Garnet Ghost Town

Located less than 20 miles from Drummond; Garnet ghost town named for the ruby-colored stones found nearby, this well-preserved ghost town offers a glimpse of life in a turn-of-the-century gold camp. Located in the Garnet Range between I-90 and MT 200, Garnet is best reached from the north, off MT 200, or from I-90, west of Drummond. Winter access from December 1 to May 15 is by snowmobiling or skiing only. There are also winter cabin rentals. This historic site provides the visitor with a sense of the rugged nature of the early miners and their families that established this community in the breathtaking, rarefied atmosphere at the top of the Garnet range.

Pintlar Scenic Route

Drummond is the northern entrance to some of the most beautiful and enchanting scenery anywhere.  This route follows the Flint Creek from its effluent with the Clark Fork River, past the historic mining town of Philipsburg, up the majestic Flint Creek pass to it’s source at the pristine Georgetown Lake.

You continue along Montana Highway 1 to Historic Anaconda.  Here there are several activities from Golfing in the summer at the Old Works golf course to enjoying a winter skiing weekend at Discovery Basin between Philipsburg and Anaconda. All of this at a stone’s throw from Drummond.
